Our Story

Plug In was created with a simple mission, to make it easier to discover what’s happening in Barbados.

Launched in 2017, Plug In was developed to provide a centralized platform where locals and visitors could quickly find upcoming events across the island. From nightlife and live entertainment to cultural experiences, sporting events, family activities and community gatherings. Plug In brought Barbados’ vibrant event scene together in one convenient place.

Over the years, Plug In grew into one of Barbados’ most recognized event discovery platforms, surpassing 100,000 downloads by 2020. The platform helped thousands of users discover events while providing organizers with a dedicated space to promote their activities and reach wider audiences.

The impact of Plug In was further recognized in 2021 when the app was nominated for App of the Year in the Gine On?! People’s Choice Awards, highlighting its role in connecting people with events and experiences across the island.

Today, Plug In is being reimagined and rebuilt for a new generation of users. While social media remains an important promotional tool, discovering events has become increasingly fragmented. Our goal is to simplify that experience by creating a reliable, searchable platform where users can quickly find what’s happening, while giving organizers a more effective way to showcase and manage their events.
